Jason : Only six performances, with limited seating. This new work performed in an actual apartment follows Jason, from Euripides' classic play Medea. No longer a husband, son, and father, Jason speculates on a variety of possibilities of what happens to this flawed supporting character. After assessing his future and trying to find a way to escape, he drinks himself into oblivion and wakes up the next morning…with a monster hangover. This production experiments with Jason's emotional, mental, and physical state post-tragedy. What erupts is sure to surprise in this 30- minute play. Performances: February 16th at 7pm and 8pm, February 23rd at 7pm and 8pm, and March 2nd at 7pm and 8pm Tickets are only $5 More information soon. For tickets email: Rachel
10/31/08: Happy Halloween! After the 2008 Philly Fringe Festival , we've been quiet, but we are not sitting still. We have three projects in the works. All of which are new productions which we are workshopping. Here is a first preview on what to look out for Anthology Project in the next year as we continue creating.
1. Jason (tentative scheduled for February 2009) Taking the character from Euripides' Medea it follows his story the day after Medea exits the scene. What would you do when within a day your new wife, new father-in-law, and two children are killed by your first wife. We have the answer: Drink yourself into oblivion. The short play to be produced in an apartment finds Jason the following morning, with the worst hangover. 2. The Worst Cabaret in the World (tentatively scheduled for March/April 2009) Our first fundraiser! Anthology Project plans a fundraiser with great and up-and-coming Philadelphia performers. One night only we will offer the little show that could, through comedy and improv we give you a night of laughs and memorable songs and most likely people trying to dance.3. Untitled Dadaist Project (tentatively scheduled during the 2009 Philly Fringe Festival) Taking a fresh and new risk on creating a theatre performance to remember. Looking to change people's views on "What is theatre?" we are creating a show which collects music, art, dance, improv and any artistic means to become the first Dadaist show Philadelphia has seen in years (if ever). Check back soon for more updates.
